BIOGRAFIA

Il lavoro di Léonie Rose Marion si concentra su diversi temi legati al territorio, alla geologia e alla fotografia. La sua esplorazione delle qualità fisiche e della materialità della fotografia è radicata nel lavoro documentaristico sul campo: sia nel suo progetto Surfaces reliques, in cui ha utilizzato Polaroid obsolete per documentare lo scioglimento dei ghiacciai, sia nel suo ultimo progetto Relever la nuit (Surveying the night), in cui ha tentato di misurare l’inquinamento luminoso mediante fotogrammi. Questo progetto è stato premiato dalla Città di Ginevra nel 2022. Il suo lavoro è stato esposto in varie istituzioni svizzere, tra cui il Centre de la Photographie Genève, Photo Elysée, il KBCB Bienne e l’IPFO-Haus der Fotografie di Olten. Si è laureata alla Scuola di Fotografia di Vevey e all’Università di Arte e Design di Ginevra (HEAD-Ginevra).

Léonie Rose Marion’s work focuses on various themes related to territory, geology and photography. Her exploration of the physical qualities and materiality of photography is rooted in documentary work in the field: both in her project Surfaces reliques, in which she used obsolete Polaroids to document the melting of glaciers, and in her recent project Relever la nuit (Survey the night), in which she attempted to measure light pollution through stills. This project was awarded by the City of Geneva in 2022. Her work has been exhibited in various Swiss institutions, including the Centre de la Photographie Genève, Photo Elysée, KBCB Bienne and the IPFO House of Photography in Olten. She graduated from the Vevey School of Photography and the Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD-Geneva).
